| Bio: | If you just arrived, here's what you might need to know:
I am a 26 year old New Zealand woman doing her PhD in Australia. I used to live in Japan. I get paid to study and write about American comics and fandom. This is a nice deal if you can get it, and I recommend you try!
I read a lot: comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, "contemporary literature", fanfic and essays on all of the above.
I write original poetry and prose and the odd bit of fanfic, mostly in the Harry Potter fandom (not very often at all, now). I co-write various things with ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) revena and I have some solo projects on the go.
Random everyday babble, general fandom ramblings, writing (fiction) and writing (PhD) are mostly behind filters but I try to keep all the good/juicy stuff public. My (wonderful, Catholic, not-quite-as-liberal-as-myself) mother occasionally reads this journal, which I find adds a little frisson of terror to some of the entries. And if you want to be added to any of those filters, just ask.
If you friend me, do introduce yourself. I like meeting new people. I am notoriously crap at replying to comments; it doesn't mean I don't like you, it just means I'm lazy and/or distracted.
